The Roots of our Success
Prof. Dr. h.c. Viktor Dulger wanted to launch the newly developed, innovative pump to the public at the Hanover trade fair. Mechanical engineers laughed at the ″little pump″ because of its size. The inventor faced comments like “take your little pump to the toy fair” with a sense of calm: Prof. Dr. Dulger thought to himself “I will prove the opposite to these prominent companies” and named his pump "ProMinent electronic".
Prof. Dr. h.c. Viktor Dulger laid the foundation of the Heidelberg-based company when he founded ″Chemie & Filter GmbH″ in 1960, focussing on the production of protective filters for the private residential sector.
He set completely new benchmarks with his development of the ″Prominent electronic″, the first electronic solenoid-driven diaphragm metering pump: with its compact design – only 15 x 20 cm and 2 kg in weight – it was significantly more efficient than other pumps available on the market at that time. Other key features included a level of precision and economic efficiency hitherto unheard of in the metering of chemicals, as well as its affordable price (less than a tenth of the price of other pumps on the market). The overwhelming success of this first solenoid metering pump also influenced the company’s current name.
