Sigma/ 2 Diaphragm Metering Pump

Sigma/ 2 Diaphragm Metering Pump

Together with Sigma/ 1 and Sigma/3, Sigma/ 2 Motor Diaphragm Metering Pumps compose a continouos product line, covering the capacity ranges from 17 to 1.030 l/h at uniform operation conception, control conception and spare parts management. All three pumps are available as Basic types with no internal electronic control systems or as microprocessor versions for rapid and reliable adjustment to fluctuating dosing tasks.

Advantages

  • Process safety: In case of average, dosing medium does not escape to the environment or into the pump gear, thanks to multi-layer safety diaphragm with diaphragm rupture display or signaling.
  • Ventilation option provides functional reliability.
  • Protection of the pump against overload with integrated relief valve.
  • High process quality: reproducible dosing accuracy better than ±2 %.
  • Easy handling: direct adjustment and control of dosing capacity in plain language via the big illuminated LC display (Control version)
  • Problem-free connection to complex process control systems with optional equipment with PROFIBUS®-DP or CanOpen interface (Control version)
  • Simplified spare parts management and decreased stock handling efforts at same availability of pumps within the Sigma product line.
  • Less training efforts for operating staff when handling the Sigma product line, thanks to same operation modus.

Application Areas

  • Quantity-proportional chemical addition in water treatment, e.g. Sodium Hypochlorite for drinking water disinfection.
  • Measurement-dependent chemical addition, e.g. acid and brine dosing for pH neutralization in waste water treatment
  • Time-controlled chemical addition in cooling water circuits.
  • Pulse-controlled dosing when bottling different volumina, e.g. glycerine filling of manometres.

Features

  • Capacity range 50 - 420 l/h, 16 - 4 bar
  • High-strength inner housing for energy-stressed components as well as additional polymer housing as protection against corrosion.
  • Stroke length: 5 mm, adjustable via self-arresting adjusting knob in 0.5 % steps.
  • Multi-layer safety diaphragm with diaphragm rupture display as standard, i.e. even should the diaphragm rupture the feed chemical cannot escape from the pump unchecked or penetrate the pump drive.
  • Liquid end materials: PVDF, stainless steel 1.4571/ 1.4404
  • Reproducible dosing accuracy at defined conditions and correct installation better than ±2 % (stroke length area 30-100 %)
  • Integrated hydraulic relief valve: protection of pump against overload without complex extra-installations and costs as well as problem-free bleeding of metering pump during suction process.
  • For high pressure rates a plunger version for up to 320 bar is available

Features Basic type (S2Ba)

  • Broad selection of drive versions: three-phase norm motor, single-phase alternating current motor, motors for the use in EXe and EXde areas, various flange versions for the use of customer-specific motors.
  • Protection class IP 55 (optionally ATEX-T3/T4)
  • Stroke-length adjustment: manually (optionally with stroke positioning drive or with stroke control drive)

Features Control Version (S2Ca)

  • Microprocessor control: optimum combination of variable AC frequency combined with digital stroking frequency, ensures exact metering even in the lower minimum range due to individual stroke control.
  • The individual pump functions are simply adjusted using the five programming keys.
  • Big backlit LCD
  • Indication in plain language of metering capacity in l/h or US-gal/h
  • 3-LED-function as operation indicator, alarm indicator and fault indicator.
  • Control via contact or analogue signals (e.g. 0/4-20 mA)
  • On demand, integration of 2-week-process timer. The intelligent alternative to clock timers.
  • Protection class IP 65
  • Interface for PROFIBUS®-DP or CanOpen

* For the Sigma control types, the 60 Hz performance data apply (because internal 60 Hz operation), however, at max. 200 strokes/min.
** For the Sigma types 07120, 07220 and 04350, the valves in the liquid end are designed in DN 25 (G 1 1/2). Since DN 20 is normally sufficiently large for the piping of these versions (see technical data, connection suction/pressure side), the connecting parts available for ordering in the Identcode (e.g. inserts) are already reduced to DN 20, i.e. piping and accessories can be executed in DN 20.
